I'm with Peretz.....

For once I'm not only in agreement with Amir Peretz, but also with Shinui, The National Union and the National Religious Party. March 7th is apparently the preferred date of all 4 for the next General Election.

Why do I care? Well, a General Election means a day off work and quite happily, March 7th is my birthday - not having to get up for work would be a rather wonderful present. A stinging defeat for Peretz's peculiar brand of socialism would be a bonus.

I found an interesting picture of the new look Labour benches (don't bother if you're not British...)

Not all that odd quite frankly (although I can't help feel you've twisted my meaning).

Shinui make a habit of being anti religious, Ichud Leumi of being as far to the right as possible and Mafdal have all but disappeared so I don't suppose that I would generally agree with much that they have to say. As for Peretz, the less said the better.

I'm not only for the defeat of Peretz's brand of socialism but for the defeat of all brands of socialism.

Labor will lose some votes to Shinui but gain some from Meretz because of this. I can't believe people in the modern world still believe in socialism!

He does seem very 'Old Labour'. No Tony Blair's around here.
He'll never fund his ideas anyay. Take no notice of the man behind the curtain.
