Seize the Moment

Walking home last night I was surprised to see someone inside Cafe Moment. A couple of weeks ago, it appeared that the tax man had succeeded where a Palestinian suicide bomber had failed in closing down a favourite neighbourhood cafe.

I'm very pleased that this seems not to be the case; this morning as I walked by, people were enjoying coffee and breakfast on the outside patio and the elegant inside tables. Moment is an excellent cafe; well appointed, decent menu and always full of Jerusalemites of different stripe. It is also a symbol of the Phoenix rising from the ashes, of how determined the ordinary Israeli is not to be cowered by terror. It is important that Moment carries on.....
