Everything's free in America....

The day after Miluim finished and I'm off to the States to meet my wife's family.

Arriving at JFK we're charged $3 for a luggage trolley. Only in Israel - hang on - that's not right is it? As I've said before - I hate it when people go on about "the Israelis" and "In Israel this, that and everything is wrong" as if everything was perfect wherever they came from.......

And the other thing that bugs me is "the grass is greener on the other side" mentality. Budget to budget, things are not really cheaper over there. And in my mind, having grown up there, it is NOT the Land of Opportunity. In fact, I feel a little spooked writing the name of the place to which I refer, lest I be arrested for anti-national sentiment.

I carried a roll of toilet paper around with me everywhere in Israel, but I neded up never needing it, since public toilets usually didn't cost anything and always had toilet paper. Apart from Iceland, Israel is the only country I know of where they don't charge for such a basic and frequent, ehrm, thing. In Norway it costs 1,50-2 US dollars to use a public restroom, and you'll NEVER find one that doesn't cost. I may have been attacked by the immigration police, but I didn't have to spend a lot of money on unnecessary things. That is no Israel, not really. I'll leave that insult for other countries.
